Assistant Archivists at Gravity Media are an intricate part of our operations. As an Assistant Archivist you will be working closely with all other departments of the company as well carrying out our own essential tasks in the Archive department. You will be able to work as part of a closely knit team while also being able to work on individual tasks when it is required. The role will require you to assist our production departments and clients in sourcing the material they need, the logging of archive matches, footage research and client liaison. This position will provide you with a broad knowledge base which will aid you in achieving your long term career goals and we are proud that previous Assistant Archivists have gone on to a variety of production and technical roles within our company.


  • Match logging on EVS MAD Log editor
  • Administration, data entry and labelling
  • Knowledge of codecs and container formats beneficial
  • The logging of tapes into and out of the library
  • Searching for tapes in and around the library and other buildings
  • Match logging of various sports using EVS IPDirector
  • Travel to and work from other sites as necessary (including collecting and delivering tapes)
  • Dealing with client and staff requests (in person, by email and on the telephone), and ensuring that both access only the tapes for which they have permission
  • Checking call sheets, emails and the database to ascertain which jobs within the building require tape stock or masters and providing the required tapes on time to the correct location
  • Footage research and client liaison
  • Working in a standalone capacity and as part of a team
  • Moving and handling boxes and crates
  • Assist with routine Library housekeeping tasks when necessary
  • Support with Digital MAD archiving when required



  • Ability to work independently and show initiative
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel to, and work from, other sites
  • Flexible approach to work


  • Good knowledge of football
  • Basic knowledge of a library management system
  • Basic knowledge of EVS IPD/MAD software


  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
