Ethical Food Company is focused on sourcing ethically grown produce from around the world for UK Retailers. Due to continued growth, we have an exciting role for a Junior Account Manager to join our sales team here in Stratford Upon Avon. 

You'll be responsible for:

To deliver against company and personal annual objectives:

  • Ensure EFC are delivering / exceeding annual sales, volume, and gross profit budgets for your customers.
  • Deliver annual growth plans for your customer and for EFC via categories and new business.
  • Deliver outlined EFC strategy work.
  • Work with HOS, to achieve business and personal objectives.

To work alongside the procurement and technical teams to deliver for both our customers and ultimately for EFC with the support of the account managers.

  • Work with procurement to ensure we are achieving the most competitive costs for customers.
  • Work with procurement to drive trade opportunities which are beneficial for both EFC and customers.
  • Be at the forefront for unlocking savings for customers by continuous reviewing and idea generation.
  • Working alongside Technical & Procurement to deliver and execute PAS targets.
  • Work with technical and procurement to ensure best quality and timely delivery of product.
  • Work closely with technical teams to deliver the best new and existing product development.
  • Understand and communicate technical issues with the customer team and liaise internally to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
  • Work with technical where required, to deliver on packaging and sustainability targets.
  • Work with procurement and technical when there are issues effecting supply and ensuring this is communicated with Customer.

To assume responsibility for the management and development of customers and delivery of their KPIs. To continue to provide support to the wider sales team.

  • Deliver outstanding understanding of your customers, ensure this is verbally communicated to the business and their expectations are met.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain commercially beneficial relationships with customers.
  • Work in a result driven manner for the good of both customer and EFC.
  • Identify opportunities within your customers, to deliver profitable business growth, where appropriate.
  • Use insight data to propose, justify and identify opportunities for your customers.
  • Achieve customer sales KPI’s, volume, margin (if applicable) and waste targets. Strive for market out performance.
  • Ensure promotional plans are planned in advance (dependent on customer timelines / submission requirements) with customers, to ensure driving sales is achieved and opportunities are not missed.
  • Customer Sales KPI’s to be balanced with meeting your customers technical KPI’s (improvement in CPMU, quality & service level).
  • Build trust with your customer by providing cost breakdowns and transparency.
  • Plan and deliver regular customer meeting reviews. Ensure all next steps are recorded and completed.
  • Ensure regular KPI updates and product analysis is sent to buyers. Any issues / opportunities are addressed.
  • Be the eyes and ears for customers, ensuring you have a good understanding of all retailers and what is going on within the organic market.
  • Ensure customers are up to date with organic market trends (utilizing information from OTB and Soil Association) and internal insight data.

Sales Team Function

  • Work with HOS and sales team to collectively deliver and exceed sales objectives by customers, as set in the annual budget.
  • Execute weekly & monthly internal sales meetings, providing a full analogy of your customer’s growth/decline.
  • Work with direct reports to keep internal customer trackers up to date and accurate.
  • Understand and maintain sales system within Prophet.
  • Monitor ISS rates including minimum order charges and transport rates with EFC Finance manager.
  • Provide procurement team with up to date, accurate sales forecasts for your customers, on a weekly basis and 12-week rolling forecast.
  • Ensure continuous development on understanding products and seasonal calendars.
  • Help and support to drive EFC sustainability agenda.
  • Cover in the sales team weekend Rota, every 6 weekends.
