Job description

Our Process Control Operators are responsible for processing all liquid milk before it goes to the production team. After milk arrives on site, collected from island farms by our drivers, it is tested and brought into the factory where our process controllers oversee the pasteurisation and other processes of liquid milk and cream. 

Processes are controlled through computer systems and following set procedures accurately and to time constraints, whilst maintaining high levels of food hygiene and meeting all food safety requirements. 

This is a key role in our manufacturing process as it ensures all liquid milk is safe, legal and of a quality standard to then be made into Creamery products. 

This role operates on 2 alternating shifts. Shift 1 is 1am - 9am and Shift 2 is 8am - finish (around 3pm depending production schedules). 

Responsibilities

  • Process all liquid milk as it arrives on site and in accordance with the production requirements for the day 
  • Monitor all milk and cream fat percentages to meet product specification
  • Ensure records are completed and documented tasks are signed off 
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time to meet audit requirements
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is maintained to a satisfactory level of hygiene and cleanliness 
  • Carry out testing on products where required.

Qualifications

None required.

Process Controllers will be required to undergo a Level 2 food hygiene certification and chemical handling qualifications which are provided as part of the induction.

Experience

The following experience is desirable not essential, as full training will be provided:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with Production equipment and processes
  • Experience assisting with the training and development of others
