Due to an extraordinary period of growth that Marlowe Fire and Security are currently experiencing and are continuing to forecast, we are on the lookout for a fantastic Project Engineer. This role will technically engineer, install and manage small and large projects across the Marlowe portfolio whilst controlling and planning the projects and commissioning works. You will liaise with key clients to ensure programme deadlines are achieved whilst maintaining profitability, Health, Safety and quality to company requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the right programme
  • Processing cost sheets to purchasing department and managing job profitability of assigned projects and reporting into the project manager
  • Ensuring Marlowe are commercially protected with correspondence to the customer outlining delays and issues
  • Planing and controlling labor and materials required to deliver the project whilst ensuring all engineering paperwork is allocated to the engineers 
  • Ensuring that all work is completed correctly and to the highest possible standards to the customer specification
  • Attending site meetings as required and providing technical expertise on projects.
  • You will have some line management responsibility of engineers and sub-contractors as assigned 
  • Controlling all aspects of health and safety on site whilst ensuring the maintenance of Marlowe quality and HSE standards

Who We're Looking for

Our ideal candidate will have a sufficient level of experience within the fire industry and have a strong technical experience of working with large systems and projects. This role would ideally suit somebody who has been in a commissioning engineer role previously and is looking to take the next step with a new challenge and added responsibility. You will have:

  • Technical and practical fire industry experience and knowledge. 
  • Experience working with various gas suppression systems
  • Strong commissioning experience
  • You will be comfortable working in a fast pace role and be comfortable working as both part of the team and autonomously. 
  • You will be a driven and enthusiastic individual that relish’s a challenging environment and you must have great communication skills
  • This is a national role and a large majority of it will see you travelling to various national clients. Flexibility to travel when needed is required to be successful within this position.

The Customer Service Administrator will play an essential role in providing an effective and professional customer service, acting as a single point of contact for our Portal Customers & their allocated National Account Customers whilst providing excellent Customer Service as an administrative support to all our accounts.

About the role:

The core focus of this role is installing and supervising Passive fire installations for a number of our high profile clients within your region. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring all installations are completed in accordance with the latest British and EN standards on small and large projects.
  • Ensuring that all works are within Health & Safety and Quality company requirements
  • Follow the company risk assessments and method statements
  • Communicating with the customer to provide progress updates.
  • Regular updates on reporting programs such as Bolster / Plan Radar.

About you:

The main focus of the work in this role will be based within your region however we are looking for someone who is flexible, with the ability to travel further afield if required. This would be on an adhoc basis and will be only occasionally.

  • Experience within the fire stopping industry as a Passive Fire Engineer.
  • Minimum of GNVQ Level 2 Fire Stopping.

The Role

  • Identify data issues and work with stakeholders to resolve inaccuracies

Integration
  • Support in extracting data from acquired businesses and aid in the transition of that data from the current system to Cash, Sage etc.

Role Purpose

  • Data Cleansing of the CRM (CASH)
  • Ensure utilisation optimisation of CASH system as part of integration and post-integration matters across all business units. This should consist of on-site auditing and support.
  • Regular reporting on systems improvement strategy.
  • Introducing processes to provide a secure environment of CASH in relation to user accounts, permission levels, data access etc. and ensuring user data is up to date and cleansed.
  • Identifying areas of duplication of data, re-keying and manual entry and recommending IT Solutions / Training to improve the businesses processes.
  • Communicate information systems plans to business users and encouraging end user ownership and adoption of these systems.



Who we’re looking for

  • Handling and verifying incoming CCTV alarms
  • Responding to incoming Fire & Intruder alarm signals
  • Providing a prompt and professional response to all our customers & emergency services

The role:

The purpose of this role will primarily to deliver 1-2-1 design and costing support to system sales teams, and provide technical advice and support to the company as a whole.

This role will be home based but reporting to our office in Risley, Derby.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Provide Design and Costing Support to Project Sales Team, Regional Sales Team & National Accounts Team
  • Evaluate a number of projects and tenders that our sales team bring in and estimate cost, resource and timeline to completion of each project
  • Supporting the Sales Teams in guiding and interpreting Customer's requirements to formulate design and specification proposal
  • Understand what each clients requirements are for each project to provide and accurate and design.

  • Knowledge of Fire detection and related systems: BS 5839 - FIA/ Recognised course on Fire Design Level 1, 2 and 3, Part
  • Understanding of Intruder and related alarm systems: BS4737 PD6662-DD243 & PD6662:2004 & PD6662:2010-BS8243(EN50131)
  • Experience with CCTV: NCP104 & ENS0132 also BS8418
  • Knowledge of Access Control and related door entry systems: NACP109 & EN5013 and Emergency lighting systems
  • Basic IT Networking topography and basic network design IP Product knowledge, and how to apply within designs
  • Knowledge of how to integrate the above systems into delivering control room platforms for large sites.

Due to recent new acquisitions and contracts the projects team and Marlowe Fire and Security is growing and we are on the look out for an experiences Systems Commissioning Engineer. 

This is a self motivated Commissioning Engineer role working as part of a team in local and national locations within the UK. The position will involve working closely with the Management Team on all projects from inception through to completion on CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm Systems. Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • To undertake small works as required and return completed engineer job packs in a timely manner.
  • Responsibility to carry out the engineering commissioning of projects through to completion in line with standards
  • Provide technical expertise on commissioning projects as required and Assist with NSI Process
  • Completion of project documentation in line with Marlowe quality and HSE standards
  • The role will cover the North Region however travel to other locations may be required on occassion.


About you:

  • An all round knowledge of CCTV/Fire/Intruder/Access systems.
  • Conversant with current industry standards and able to commission multi disciplined systems.
  • Ability to work closely with sub-contract labour and onsite clients.
  • Self motivated and able to organise workload, with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • Technical background in the electrical / electronic industry with good PC skills

Role Purpose & Accountabilities

You will provide support and to our highly successful Sales, Account Management and Operational Delivery Teams in the review, negotiation and governance of our private and public sector customer contracts, whilst safeguarding our interests by ensuring that all contractual risks are quickly identified, documented and mitigated. This role will operate across all of our Group’s individual brands, responsible for reviewing, negotiating and the overall management of all contractual activities, highlighting and mitigating key contractual risks.

  • Redefine the Division’s approach to contractual review, negotiation and governance
  • Review of Customer contracts of purchase utilising Standard Form Contracts and our Customer’s bespoke contracts
  • Direct negotiation of contracts with our customer’s contractual and commercial teams
  • Assess and highlight key contractual risks to relevant stakeholders and support in risk mitigation
  • Communicate with all interested parties ensuring full understanding and adherence of the contracts and associated obligations
  • Oversee contractual governance in operational delivery
  • Resolve any and all contractual disputes
  • Negotiate contractual agreements with our Supply Chain Partners to ensure the future interests of the business

Who we’re looking for

You will be an experienced, self-managing, enthusiastic, innovative and dynamic CCTV Engineer, able to undertake various pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks and new installation works.
  • IP Surveillance Systems and Access Control Systems or related equipment, following drawing of electrical layouts and building plans in accordance with NSI and relevant Codes of Practice/Policies.

The role:

Our Service Engineers are responsible for maintaining Fire & Security systems in line with customer requirements and current standards. You will deliver a world class customer service to our valued clients ensuring that the work is completed to an exceptional standard

The Job

Due to an increased workload, we are looking for a Mechanical Fitters Mate to work side by side with one of our experience suppression engineers in our Install Department. You duties will include:

  • Assisting the engineers with installation of fire suppression equipment
  • Working on a wide range of specialist suppression projects. 
  • Working on a range of pipe joining techniques, utilising a wide range of materials including Pipe installation and pipe frame building. 
  • You will be taught everything that you need to know to become a successful suppression engineer which will lead to further responsibility and ownership of your own jobs and Van.
  • The role will involve working at height, UK travel and the flexibility to stay away from home when required
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is keen to learn and would like to get a knowledge in the fire and security industry. 

About you

  • Some experience/knowledge of pipe fitting would be great. If you have done a pipe course, that would be beneficial but is not essential. 
  • Flexibility to travel and to stay away from home when required. 
  • Hard working and comfortable in a physically demanding role. Ideally you will have worked in a physically demanding role previously.

The purpose of this role is to professionally represent the Company’s brand and successfully sell all the Company’s products and services throughout the United Kingdom, ensuring achievement of an agreed sales target upwards of £750K per annum. We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and experienced consultative Sales Specialist who will be responsible for winning new business and developing accounts with end users, Electrical Contractors and Consultants who require a Fire and/or Security system plus the full range of other life safety and security solutions that we offer. 

This is a Home Based role and will have full UK Coverage.

Your duties will include:

  • To prospect for new customers through personal development, cold calling, canvassing, marketing, referrals, and tender opportunities.
  • To attend sales appointments with a view to selling all the Company’s products and services
  • To achieve monthly activity and target objectives
  • Develop successful national sales opportunities to required level and handover to Major Account Manager.
  • Collate appropriate information and ensure all correct documentation is utilised
  • To provide reports as required
  • To represent the Company in a professional manner always
  • Constant attainment of agreed targets
  • Forecast reporting on a weekly basis and an up to date rolling three months forecast
  • Be continually aware of the changes in legislation & product development
  • Diarise all appointments and work activities on a daily basis


About you

We are looking for somebody who has fantastic experience within a similar role and somebody who has experience/knowledge of the fire and security industry. To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a proven track record in a structured target and activity driven sales environment with experience of delivering target amounts of close to £750K per annum.
  • Have a good technical and design knowledge of the Fire & Security Industry
  • Be able to produce your own designs, proposals and cost sheets from the systems provided
  • Have a high level of professionalism and be extremely customer focused
  • Good communication skills, on the telephone, face to face and written
  • Be activity driven (with a Hunter approach) and have excellent communication skills
  • You must have adaptability and a high attention to detail with drive, focus and creativity
  • You must be able to create a professional impression at all times with stakeholders both internally & externally and be excellent at building lasting customer relationships.

The Role

The installation of fire doors is as life-critical as the product specification itself, therefore we are seeking someone who is specifically trained to install fire doors and carry out remedial works where necessary.

The Service team at Marlowe Fire and Security are the heart of our business and over the past 6 months we have grown our Engineer force by 40%. We are now looking for fantastic Regional Service Manager to lead our team of engineers in the Anglia Region. This region has one of the highest retention rates of our engineers in the country and we are looking for somebody who can keep that trajectory. 

The core focus of this role is to deliver a first class efficient, reliable and operationally effective regional service team, build and develop the existing customer service base and to ensure maximum revenue generation whilst maintaining best in class health and safety compliance. To provide clear leadership of the regional team with clear communication of and adherence to company policies. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: 

  • To be responsible and accountable for the operational service delivery in your region, meeting PPM compliance targets and ensuring adherence to corrective SLA’s of customer and the NSI

The Role: 

Working within the Finance Department, this role is primarily responsible for the co-ordination and administration of the timely and accurate delivery of payroll. Additionally, the payroll processing manager is responsible for producing in depth analysis of payroll costs.

  • End to end processing of company payroll on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain and update the payroll records and payroll spreadsheets.

The Role

You will be trained to deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance work (PPM) on a wide variety of fire and security systems within an assigned area, ensuring customer satisfaction through delivery of excellent customer service, clearly communicating all works to be undertaken and detailing any defects that will require remedial action:

  • Maintain Fire & Security Systems in your designated area.
  • Identify defects and deficiencies in installed systems making clear recommendations for remedial actions required to provide compliance.

  • Maintain your stock levels with support from the Stores team. Conduct timely vehicle stock takes as and when required

Role Profile
  • As this role will look after a select list of key accounts the role will be varied, but predominantly an installation and commissioning role with Small works, Fault-finding as required.
  • Systems vary but mostly large-scale networked systems ranging across Gent, Advanced, Salto, Paxton, Texecom, Avigilon, Baldwin Boxall, Cortech, Axxonsoft to name a few. Most works are completed with a team of two due to the size and complexity of the buildings and to ensure that the work is completed safely, so will involve working with and mentoring our group of trainee engineers.
  • The sites are all long-term prestigious contracts direct with the end-user, so the works must be completed to the highest possible standard. The engineer will be given time, support and resource to install and maintain the systems thoroughly.

ACL, an integral division of Marlowe Critical Services, are a specialist Fire, Security and Building Energy Management System (BEMS) company operating in the southeast and have been established since 1984. Apprenticeship Training Programme
Working within a structured 3-year apprenticeship program, you will learn how to install and maintain a range of fire life safety and security systems within large-scale business premises across London and the south east.

Attending college on block release, you will be taught the required regulatory knowledge, design principles and technical skills to work comfortably on some of the most complex and advanced systems within the industry.

To compliment your college learning you will be exposed to and trained in a variety of different roles from containment and cabling installation, 2nd fix installation and commissioning, fault finding and rectification, routine servicing and maintenance.

ACL invest heavily in their Apprentices and continue to train and support qualified engineers throughout their careers. The vast majority of our Supervisors and Managers have trained within the business, so there are a number of options to further develop and progress within the business.


What we will expect from you
  • Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and techniques while under the supervision and instruction of our skilled engineering team.
  • Learning the importance of Health and Safety and working responsibly within controlled environments.
  • Following instructions with great attention to detail and care, as you learn new skills, demonstrating that you can perform complex tasks with a high degree of precision.
  • Maintaining a smart appearance and acting in a professional manner at all times.
  • Working to support your engineering team by completing all tasks allocated to you, including maintaining good housekeeping of the workplace, tooling and facilities.
  • Completing all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at College and gathering any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
  • Complete an annual assessment at college and take part in any additional manufacture-based training courses that the company require you to complete.
  • Coordinate with your engineering team and plan your journeys to and from site to ensure that you are always on time and well prepared for the task at hand with all required PPE.

Remuneration & Benefits

Starting salary is dependent on your age in line with the National Living Wage. Pay is then reviewed annually in line with inflation, government guidelines and your individual progression.

Your apprenticeship course will last a minimum of 3 years, but your progress and development are specific to you, so we have no set rates for year 2 and 3 apprentices.

The role:

Our Service Engineers are responsible for maintaining Fire & Security systems in line with customer requirements and current standards. You will deliver a world class customer service to our valued clients ensuring that the work is completed to an exceptional standard

You Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining fire & security systems in line with current standards and customer requirements
  • Responding to demand service calls on all types of fire and security systems
  • Planning and implementing routine and demand call visits for your area
  • Delivering a first-class customer service to all our customers
  • Work with all teams within the business including the Scheduling team to ensure that all jobs are covered and the Stores team to ensure that your stock levels are maintained
  • Attend training sessions at the Marlowe Academy and attend Engineering team meeting when required. 
  • Be responsible for identifying any personal training and development needs to help you deliver the best possible customer service and ensure that both your manager and the training team are aware.

About you

We are looking for someone who has the drive and enthusiasm to provide an outstanding service to our customers every day. Our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience as a multi-disciplined engineer with a good all round knowledge of Fire and Security Systems
  • Technical background in the electrical / electronic industry
  • Experience of front line customer service will be preferential
  • A full UK Driving Licence
  • You have to be flexible to travel and be part of an on call rota.

The Role

We have a requirement for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to provide Service and minor Remedial works support for a selection of key accounts in and around the West half of the M25 and the directly surrounding counties. The candidate would work with our existing team in the area and look after several prestigious large-scale commercial sites, ranging across Hospitality, Healthcare, Heritage and Education sectors. As this role will look after a select list of key accounts the role will be varied, but predominantly a Fire Alarm Service role with minor remedial works and Fault-finding to suit the skills of the applicant. EVCS and Gas Suppression experience is beneficial but not a requirement. Security System experience would also be an advantage for any candidate and training will be provided to any candidate that wants progression into a Fire and Security Role.

Systems vary but mostly large-scale networked systems ranging across Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Morley and Kentec. Works are completed with a team of two due to the size and complexity of the buildings and to ensure that the work is completed safely, so will involve working with and mentoring our group of apprentice engineers.

The sites are all long-term prestigious contracts direct with the end-user, so the works must be completed to the highest possible standard. The engineer will be given time, support and resource to maintain the systems thoroughly.

Key Relationships

The post holder will be responsible for a select list of key accounts and so will be able to acquire detailed site knowledge and will be provided with training for all systems that you maintain to an expert level. As part of a dedicated support team consisting of a Service Coordinator, Senior Engineer, Service Manager and Contract Manager, you will work to provide an industry leading level of service for our clients. We invest heavy in apprentices so you will work with and support the development of the next generation of engineers.

Candidate Requirements

At least 5 years’ experience maintaining networked Fire Detection and Alarm Systems.

Tasks will include remedial repairs, modifications and small installations projects. With fault-finding and maintenance tasks possibly required at peak times. They will provide support for a selection of key accounts across the south east. The candidate would work within one of our existing teams in the area and look after several prestigious large-scale commercial sites, ranging across Hospitality, Healthcare, Heritage and Education sectors. As this role will look after a select list of key accounts the role will be varied, but predominantly providing small works.

Systems vary and range from Gent, Advanced, Notifier, Plan, ACT, Salto,Paxton, Texecom, Galaxy, Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Cortech, Axxonsoft, Milestone. Any works on larger systems will be completed with a minimum team of two, an Engineer and an Apprentice, to ensure that the work is completed safely and efficiently. Candidates will be required to work support and mentoring our team of apprentice engineers who are at various stages of development.

The sites are all long-term prestigious contracts, so the works must be completed to the highest possible standard. The engineer will be given time, support and resource to install and commission the systems correctly, with extensive training provided to achieve expert status with our primary systems.
