Based in our Watford office, the Logistics Coordinator will join a small but busy team to assist with booking and planning international and domestic freight for the mainly projects led logistics department.

The Logistics Coordinator will take on a variety of roles such as booking freights, managing imports, maintaining and organising documents/data and other administrative duties.

We are looking to bring on our next generation of bright and talented Engineering Graduates to start in the summer, 2022. This is an opportunity for you to learn and develop in live television production, replay, archiving, networking and broadcast engineering set up of non-linear based systems in high profile global events. Once you have perfected your operational skills, have a deep understanding of the engineering standards consistent with that discipline, you will then be looking towards preparing, planning and delivering the technical operation of fly away projects from small base productions to major global events & productions. Based in our Watford office, the Sales Manager – Global Used Equipment will be responsible for commercial and business development for our Used Equipment sales + marketing across the world. They will also form a key link between Business Development and the Asset Management team, consistently liaising on equipment utilisation and availability.

This role will be a key part of our wider EMEA Business Development team, generating new opportunities and maintaining an excellent contacts book to the business. Utilising their own extensive network within the sports broadcasting industry, the Sales Manager will be expected maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities using Salesforce, deliver against agreed KPIs and contribute to continued strategies for growth in the Used Equipment Market.

They will both grow existing long-term relationships with our top spending clients + also identify long-term growth accounts, utilising Rental + Projects contacts + clients to cross-sell & handover leads between both teams.

Where possible alongside of their main KPIs, the Sales Manager will be encouraged to integrate and actively participate in the wider Business Development strategy, putting forward new opportunities and potential areas for growth.

12 Month FTC as maternity cover

Based out of our outside broadcast office in Watford, you will be part of an established production management team, reporting into the Lead Production Manager.

You will be responsible for all aspects of Production Management for major (and minor!) scale projects, working closely with Clients, Suppliers, Crew and Engineering Project Manager.

You will benefit from being part of a team of production managers, coordinators and assistant contributing to an inclusive and supportive working environment.

A primarily office-based role with the potential for some overseas travel. When not on location you will be expected to work office hours Monday to Friday but may be required to be available for contact after these core hours.

Job Purpose

Based in our Chiswick office, our Edit Assistants are responsible for the day-to-day operation and support of our Avid edit suites and ProTools sound suite.

Gravity House in Soho, London has the feel of an exclusive club and offers a very creative working environment. The Hospitality Runner role provides a professional hospitality runner service to our clients using these facilities. This includes runner duties, kitchen, and reception coverage where required as well as assisting the technical team. This is an entry level role into post production and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to ensure the smooth running of Gravity House

About Gravity House

Gravity House offers nearly 50 off-line cutting rooms and is mainly occupied by clients working on feature films and drama productions. Each room is kitted out according to the client’s individual needs with Mac or PC based workstations running the client’s preferred editing software, most commonly Avid Media Composer. Each of the 6 floors has a technical space and the basement houses a viewing room, a comms room as well as a kit storage and preparation area.

Key details Location: London with placements in Farnborough and the opportunity to work around the UK and overseas on our exciting projects

Scheme Duration: 36 Months (3 years) – Fixed term contract Start Date: September 2022


Typical roles following the scheme: Server Engineer, Audio Engineer, Vision Engineer, Post Production Engineer, Broadcast Engineer.


The apprenticeship


We are excited to be continuing our partnership with Ravensbourne University London to bring two apprentices into our business, who will have the opportunity to work towards a degree in Broadcast and Media Systems Engineering at the same time as gaining invaluable experience across the Broadcasting spectrum. We can offer a unique opportunity in this regard due to the wide variety of projects we work with in the UK and overseas, ranging from I’m a Celebrity, to the Australian Open! Our apprentices will be based in London and through a series of Ravensbourne University taught modules and industrial experience we will prepare you as the next generation of Engineering talent into the industry.


Year 1


You’ll develop an excellent theoretical and practical understanding of technical and operational systems and equipment and their use in the fast-moving media industry. Specifically, we will immerse you in our Workshop and Warehouse in order to learn the practical fundamentals of Engineering, where you will rotate through engineering teams responsible for installing, fixing and maintaining the studios and equipment, and will also do placements with other departments working on engineering projects, Outside Broadcast trucks, infrastructure and systems integration. Subjects learned include taught subjects include: audio and video fundamentals, introduction to networking, and business systems.


Year 2


In your second year we will place you in our Production Centre in Chiswick where you will work with our Broadcast Engineers to learn how we support our clients and liaise directly with suppliers in a fast-paced Master Control Room environment primarily involved around live sport. You will encounter the different types of technology we deploy and learn how that integrates into a wide range of programming including Studio and Gallery live content delivery and Post Production workflows. We’ll then place you with our Post Production Engineering teams based in Farnborough where you will learn about editing equipment, Avid and EVS technology, as well as the post-production workflows employed in broadcast TV, film and drama. Subjects learned in this year include: electronics, computing, and more advanced networking.


Year 3


For your final year we will take into account your preferences, strengths and career goals to find you a home in our business that best supports you in achieving your degree and aspirations – and once you have completed your apprenticeship degree, there will be a number of roles you will wish to consider with our business. Subjects learned in the final year include: emerging technologies, and a final major project related to the job.


What we look for


You’ll love solving problems and seeing how things work. You’ll like having a go at fixing things, or designing and building things yourself. We're not looking for work experience but throughout the application process we'll be asking for evidence that shows your passion for technology. As this is a degree scheme we need strong academic performance. The minimum academic criteria is around 112 UCAS points (300 if before 2017), including a Maths A level or equivalent qualification and other science or technology subjects, for example, Computer Science, Physics or Electronics, or a BTEC in Engineering with Engineering Maths. We would also expect you to hold a GCSE at Grade 4 (C) or above in English Language and Mathematics. Equivalent qualifications will be accepted. The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK. Please note, this vacancy does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Tier 2 work visa for international applicants. You also need to be over 18 at time of starting in September 2022.

THE ROLE 

Assistant Archivists at Gravity Media are an intricate part of our operations. As an Assistant Archivist you will be working closely with all other departments of the company as well carrying out our own essential tasks in the Archive department. You will be able to work as part of a closely knit team while also being able to work on individual tasks when it is required. The role will require you to assist our production departments and clients in sourcing the material they need, the logging of archive matches, footage research and client liaison. This position will provide you with a broad knowledge base which will aid you in achieving your long term career goals and we are proud that previous Assistant Archivists have gone on to a variety of production and technical roles within our company.

Based primarily in our Watford office, the Vision Engineer will be required to travel globally as required by the projects department. The Vision Engineer will have a keen interest in broadcasting technology and the ability to work effectively with varying groups of people. Gravity Media’s Engineering department delivers on our customer requirements by ensuring we are at the top of our game with the adoption of new and emerging technologies, and ensure client projects are delivered on time and on budget.
