Compliance Co-ordinator
37 hours per week
Up to £30,000 per annum
Do you have experience in Compliance with an understanding of Gas Processes? Are you methodical, organised process driven, with an eye for detail? We are looking for a Compliance Co-ordinator to join our Resident Safety Team.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring Worthing Homes adherence to statutory regulations and standards concerning property and landlord health and safety. You will work closely with contractors to ensure they meet the expected compliance standards, coordinate and monitor compliance inspections and servicing and maintaining our asset management system with the latest data on general stock condition, energy and compliance.
The role presents a great opportunity to use your knowledge and experience of compliance, contractor management and gas processes to deliver outstanding service to our customers, working with them to ensure compliance with regulations. You’ll also get the opportunity to use your analytical skills to get under the skin of our systems, data and processes to seek out opportunities for improvement and automation.
Key responsibilities:
- Organise periodic compliance inspections to ensure they are completed on-time in line with relevant policies and procedures. Highlighting any actions or remedial works with the surveying team
- Arrange works with appropriate contractors ensuring the works are completed within the specified target completion dates
- Conduct analysis of compliance and provide regular compliance reports
- Maintain the asset management system to ensure that property and component / equipment information is complete, accurate and up-to date
- Keep abreast of any changes in relevant legislation
- Support the team with the monitoring of the energy efficiency of the housing stock and in the development and organisation of a rolling programme of stock condition surveys.
About You
- You must be an effective communicator and have strong telephone and written skills
- You will have experience in a customer facing role
- You will have proven experience working in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a similar role
- You will have an understanding of health and safety regulations, specifically gas
- You must be highly organised and able to prioritise a varied workload amongst competing demands
- You will be adept with technology, digitally curious and competent at using systems including Microsoft 365 and mobile working equipment.

The Responsive Repairs Inspector is responsible for ensuring our housing repairs are designed, planned and prioritised to deliver cost effective and high-quality repairs. This is a great opportunity to use your skills and initiative to diagnose defects, determine the works needed and identify remedies in various age and construction type houses, flats and bungalows.
To be successful in this role it is essential you have good analytical skill, with the ability to identify the root causes of issues and develop effective solutions. You must be comfortable making informed decisions to address urgent repairs. You will have tenacity to manage and drive complex repairs and above all you will possess a customer service approach to ensure we deliver excellent outcomes for our customers.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing the delivery of a high-quality responsive repairs service by undertaking inspections of properties, estates and communal areas, ensuring works are effectively delivered and disruption for our customers is minimised.
- Inspecting properties and effectively identifying and diagnosing defects; preparing specifications, schedules of work and costings; organising repairs and monitoring cost and completion.
- Monitoring and managing the progress of works in properties, ensuring completion of works in line with target timescales.
- Undertaking site inspections for works selected for post inspections and gathering feedback from customers.
- Managing expenditure, ensuring repairs are carried out within the defined parameters.
- Monitoring the performance of maintenance contractors to ensure quality, timely delivery and value for money; Resolving performance issues as required.
- Undertaking stock condition surveys of our properties and assisting with the delivery of planned works.
- Effectively engaging with customers to deliver and improve our maintenance service; Responding to complaints and assisting customers to maintain their homes by offering proactive, practical technical advice to residents.

Damp and Mould Inspector
37 hours per week
Up to £40,117 DOE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Damp and Mould Inspector to join our team at Worthing Homes. As one of our Damp and Mould technical leads your will be responsible for project managing complex repairs in relation to reports of damp and mould. You will investigate cases of damp and mould, implementing necessary remedial works, liaising with contractors, monitoring the quality of works and ensuring timely delivery. You will work in partnership with our customers and colleagues offering advice, education and support around possible causes and prevention of damp and mould. Your ultimate goal will be to ensure we deliver high quality customer focussed services to our homes.
To be successful in this role it is essential you are customer focussed and have the drive and enthusiasm to see through complex repairs. Your organisational skills and a proactive mindset will be key assets in achieving our goal of delivering excellence in our customer services.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking inspections of properties and communal areas, in relation to damp and mould reports. Assessing likely causes and building defects. Providing technical solutions and advice and issuing works orders.
- Managing complex repairs in relation to damp and mould, including liaison with specialist contractors and project managing major works.
- Working in partnership with our customers to offer advice and education in relation to the causes of condensation and mould. Managing properties where no defects are identified.
- Monitoring performance by contractors in relation to completion of works within target times and quality of works. Carrying out post inspections where needed and gathering feedback from customers.
- Investigating and responding to customer complaints relating to damp and mould repairs undertaken.
- Flagging breaches of tenancy conditions noted during property inspections and working to resolve these with the relevant neighbourhood teams.
- Playing a key part in improving existing policies/procedures in relation to damp and mould to enhance the customer experience. Ensuring that all legal requirements and good practices are observed.
About You:
- You will have sound knowledge of building construction, repairs and safety.
- You will have experience of diagnosing property defects and causes of damp and mould.
- You will possess up-to-date knowledge of the housing sector, best practice and relevant legislation particularly in relation to maintenance and damp and mould.
