ITS Department Bespoke Plant Manager

Balfour Beatty VINCI is working with a range of organisations to design and build 90km West Midlands stretch of HS2 - Britain’s new high speed railway.. Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester.

It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us - we’re at peak construction with work really ramping up on a broad range of assets including bridges, tunnels and viaducts. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a ITS Department Bespoke Plant Manager to join our team within the Plant team.

ITS department Head Plant manager - Overseeing the daily organisation and activities of four main activities. 

Bespoke plant and equipment department. 

Electrical department. 

PPI and GPS department. 

ITS innovation and technology department.

  • Plant Manager representative for BBV with support to Sublots with bespoke equipment technical support with method, FAT & SOW, input. R&M, quarterly budget reviews with financial department R12 accountability cost control, buy versus Hire budget capex business case proposal. Stock accountability and overhead departmental budgetary running costs.
  • Method plant definition and sourcing of bespoke plant and equipment for site
  • Supply chain engagement with internal and external RAM, risk assessment reviews and SOW.
  • O&M supplier review and involvement and negotiations with contractual agreements
  • Financial reporting, maintaining, and reporting good KPI reviews and submittals quarterly to BBV asset Plant Manager
  • Experience promoting a health and safety culture for the business.
  • Assist Core plant department operations in the development of staff, new and systems. 

The following qualities or equivalent /experience are essential:

: HNC MICE Civil engineering degree

: NEBOSH National General Construction Health and Safety

: P.M.S.T.S Plant Managers health and safety inspecting Construction plant.

: CSCS Managers Construction safety Black Card holder

: BWA First Line business management Development certificate

: NVQ Construction Plant (City guilds Plant) NVQ or level 2,4,6 NVQ

: Must have Experience in construction industry

About Balfour Beatty VINCI

Balfour Beatty VINCI is a long-established joint venture between two powerhouses for the delivery of critical infrastructure across rail, transport and other iconic projects in the UK and beyond. We started working together over 30 years ago to deliver the Channel Tunnel, as members of the TransManche Link consortium. In the Midlands, it is Balfour Beatty VINCI’s role to design and build the route, ready for tracks and signalling to be installed. Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and then on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
