Title: Contracts Manager

Role Overview

Simultaneous control, organisation and financial management of individual contracts, including ensuring allocated contracts are delivered on time, within contract dates, within budget, safely and to the clients requirements and in line with Company procedures and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Control all aspects of the production including Financial, Operational, and H & S on a site in order to deliver Company objectives including, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring programme ( contract and target ) is progressed to time, quality, specification and budget in accordance with the Company/Department/Client KPI’s
  • Ensure the appropriate production and application of procurement schedules to maximise financial and operational benefits
  • Ensure that at all times sites are managed safely
  • Maintain good Client and supply chain relationships

Organisational control including: 

  • Set up/arrange/attend Tender handover, pre start, contract reviews, project meetings;
  • Ensure the correct use of sub-contractors, direct labour, materials and plant in line with the specification and at all times in accordance with legal requirement;
  • Ensure direct labour timesheets are fully completed and issued in line with deadlines set;
  • Meet with senior managers deadlines that are set.

Control financial aspects of the contract including:

  • Notify the Contract Administrator and all other parties immediately of any changes in the tendered scope of works and ensure cost information associated with these changes is provided within 7 days or in line with specific contract terms ( NEC, JCT etc);
  • Ensure where possible that no works packages operate at a loss;
  • Ensure that no rates are issued other than the set rates to direct labour without approval from line manager;
  • Report to the line managers on financial and operational issues.

Person Specification

  • Self – driven, results orientated with a positive outlook, clear focus on customer satisfaction;
  • Good planner and able to assess own performance;
  • Sufficiently mobile and flexible to attend out of hours meetings;
  • Well – presented and business like;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
