Edinburgh or Inverness Full time £35,587- £38,637 per annum plus 8% employer pension contribution

Are you passionate about tackling the climate emergency? As the biggest threat to life as we know it, we urgently need to scale up the action we’re taking to avert disaster. This is where you come in.

We are Scotland’s leading environmental charity delivering solutions for low carbon living. A trusted expert with over 35 years’ experience. We’re looking for a talented Partnership Lead to join our new Net Zero Programme Development team and make a real difference.

The Team

You will join the newly created Net Zero Programme Development (NZPD) team in Changeworks’ Technical Directorate. This team powers the delivery of our mission to decarbonise Scottish homes by building and maintaining a pipeline of new projects to meet customer needs. NZPD will play a key role in business development to secure income and growth, as well as contributing to the improvement of Changeworks’ customer journeys.

The NZPD team aims to maximise Changeworks’ impact and influence through building effective collaborations and long-lasting partnerships. Working with colleagues across the organisation, the team has an overview of all external business development activities to support future opportunities, growth and impact. This work is underpinned by efficient maintenance and targeted development.

Changeworks’ strategic aim to accelerate the decarbonisation of Scotland’s homes includes delivering a diverse range of low carbon and fuel poverty services. NZPD will support identifying opportunities to sustain and expand our existing programmes and potential for new projects and areas of work in line with our strategy.

The team provides valued expertise across the business on:

• Business Development

• Developing partnerships

• Project Development

• Supporting colleagues to identify new opportunities to decarbonise homes

The Role

You’ll lead on a diverse range of projects across the organisation, as well as engaging with external clients across all sectors. You’ll build relationships with partners and develop business opportunities to support energy efficiency, heat decarbonisation or alleviate fuel poverty.

Changeworks’ external partnerships are critical to project delivery. The partnerships you develop and nurture in this role will make a real and vital impact on the decarbonisation of Scotland’s homes. You’ll be managing our partnership strategy and be a key contact for our strategic partnerships.

To make a meaningful difference to the climate emergency, we are increasing the number of large-scale and pilot projects that we deliver. You’ll be key to growing and diversifying Changeworks’ activity across Scotland, including area-based projects focused on domestic energy efficiency and a range of other decarbonisation projects.

Changeworks has an ambitious strategy to make a low carbon lifestyle a reality for all. You’ll be playing an active role in delivering and disseminating our strategy. Your work will lead to positive change for the environment as well as people, their wellbeing, and the homes they live in.

You’ll also be responsible for the role of Development Coordinator and potentially other roles depending on business needs. Your role will provide direction and support to ensure your team’s skills development to support them to achieve their full potential.

Benefits

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
