Financial Controller

We have an excellent opportunity in our Senior Leadership Team for an ambitious Financial Controller who is looking to build on their experience to date working as part of a talented, evolving Leadership Team.

Purpose of the Role

To provide inspirational leadership and strategic direction to support delivery of Rapids sales and profit growth throughout the UK, resulting in additional Market Share.

Assist in delivery of world class strategies and profit through leadership and development.

To oversee and manage all aspects of the Company’s finances and ensure the Finance Department fully supports the Company’s financial management and accounting needs.

To ensure by utilising the technical accounting resources within the Department, that all the general ledger, management accounting, cost accounting, treasury and statutory reporting deliverables are executed to the agreed timetables and work quality standards as required by the Managing Director and their professional advisers.

Key Accountability

• Provide leadership, strategic management and motivation for functional teams and the business, role model leadership behaviours, coaching and challenging.

• Deliver against the Company Goals as framed by the Purpose, Vision, Goals and Values.

• Create and implement a financial strategy and plan that reflects and considers the overall corporate objectives and values of Rapid, to facilitate continual growth.

• Maintain a high level of understanding of the business in all divisions and contribute to the development of corporate strategies, taking a wide view of ‘whole business’ topics

• Deliver effective performance management to ensure our people operate in an environment of high challenge, high support to leverage a greater performance

• Direct and monitor financial goals, objectives and budgets

• Work in collaboration with all Directors to develop functional and organisational budgets

• Oversee cash management and investing activities

• Provide financial analysis, developing cash flow and budget projections

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards and guidelines, co-ordinate steering group breakthrough projects and ensure administrative controls, quality and procedural efficiencies

• Develop plans for business opportunities within functional area

• Create financial modelling, participate in strategic and tactical planning and implementation

• Assess and negotiate complex proposals and contracts where necessary.

• Effectively influence and operate across multiple organisational and functional boundaries

• Ensure confidentiality and reliability of Rapid data

• Work in partnership with all Steering Group and specialists for the overall success of Rapid

• Ownership and contribution to resolving any internal conflicts in a timely and professional manner

• Keep up-to-date with the latest financial business thinking and implement as appropriate to the business context

• Maintain and regularly review own personal development plan, utilising a wide range of development opportunities

Role Specific Attributes

• Degree educated with breadth of financial leadership experience ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW preferable

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, advanced numerical, verbal, written and presentation communication skills. • Results oriented and structured problem-solving skills.
